We are pleased to offer this absolutely beautiful ES-5. This stunning guitar has virtually no play wear, but for a very minor scuff on the back and some fine lacquer checking. ES-5s with P90s from the early 50s are one of our favorite guitars – versatile and killer tone. The tailpiece is a repro, the repaired original is in the case. Its hard to find early ES-5s and 175s where this tailpiece has not broken, the hinge was a real weak point. It was professionally refretted at some point and there is no fret wear – plays excellent. The bridge P90 appears to have been replaced, but is a correct 50s era pickup. The neck is 1.68 x .98 at the nut, fat but not huge with a great feel. Of course the P90s all sound terrific with the classic ES-5 tone you hear from T-Bone Walker and Anson Funderburgh, Kid Ramos, Junior Watson and many others. With well-used but fully functional original brown hard case.
